Services Provided by the Building & Safety Division
- Conducts plan review for residential and commercial construction and remodel projects.
- Issues permits for building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and encroachment (driveways) projects.
- Enforces the California Building, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical and Fire Codes, as well as CSLT Code, Chapter 8.
- Inspects construction projects and issues Certificates of Occupancy.
- Inspects housing complaints which fall under the Uniform Housing Code.
- Enforces corrections for code violations which are reported by citizens or other officials.
- Maintains construction records of all parcels within the City limits.
- Assigns and corrects addresses to parcels within the City limits.
- Assists other Community Development & Engineering Divisions with constructions projects.
